New mouse advice

My mouse is slowly dying

I have an old MS Explorer mouse (the right handed silver one) and the wire connection into the mouse is starting to die. It loses connection every now and then resulting in complete mouse paralysis for a couple of seconds. This can be pretty frustrating, especially when you are about to knife Night-Wolf

So anyway, I need to get a new mouse. I thought I'd come here and ask if anyone has any good suggestions.

My requirements: must have at least 2 thumb buttons, ideally be right handed, be good for gaming.

I was looking at the Logitech G5 Laser Mouse, does anyone have any experience with these? are they as good as they sound?

Any advice/suggestions/comments are appreciated.

You can play with such a mouse? Wow!

I need my high precision mouse. Without it I'd go crazy.

The razr mice are good, but I am a Logitech fan.

Simply just plug and play. No installation, no problems.

Simple adjustment of the mouse sensivity through special buttons.

My old IE 3.0's getting a little dirty now, so I think I'll be picking up a . Same shape as my baby I have now and superfastdpimhz nonsense.

In regards to own4ge; it's all placebo effect for me. Feels different so I pay more attention than I normally would and hey, I'm roxing that there server.

Same happens when I random change(d) sens/fov/binds yadda yadda. About the best upgrade I ever did was a decent mouse-pad.

I use a fUnc sUrface 1030, I loves her. One side's super glidey and one's smoooooth and slower, better for sniping and the like. I'm gonna be silly and say it helps, but it does make your controls feel suaver.

This one for me. Just Logitech, optical, with wire. Works perfect for me

. As gaming mouse it sucks, but i got used to it. Maybe I would be better with the G5

lol - I can sympathise with Guildo here - I still use a silver MS mouse - the 5 button one - maybe thats why I cant hit anything either

never mind it makes it more of a challenge

I bought a stupid programmable hi-res gaming mouse and it sucked - I gave it to my daughter (ok maybe i should have given myself more time to get used to it . . . but I walked into a local store and found another MS Optical silver 5 button mouse and . . . well I still can't hit anything but it works

Oh and I use a grainy speckled bit of dark card as a mousemat . . . its so old and worn its getting the gloss effect . . . who needs teflon skidmats
