First of all thanks for finally posting here about your offer.
I have only spoken about this to ROOSTER as he is pretty much the only active member and admin besides me on DC2 lately.
I think it's a very generous offer, one that serves the ET community first and fore most. As I already said on TeamSpeak, if there is
NO other option and our flag server -
DC2 - would go down (due to lack of financial injections from members and regulars), as it seems it will, having a place to migrate things is definitely better for the ET community, then to have the player base spread out over the very few remaining servers.
The way I see it (since I don't have much time to explore other servers), [!!!] and [fP] are the only two well maintained, admined and cared for ETpro communities out there at this moment. If one goes down (sadly ours as it seems), no one would benifit. Having two communities is definitely better then just one.
The waiting times to climb on to Hirntot are already usually long at peak hours during day, I can only imagine what would happen if a huge [fP] player base would lose their home server and would have to get in line for Hirntot (which is most similar to DC2, apart from obvious differences).
I understand Al's position and I appreciate and respect the work and money that has been put into the [fP] community since it's beginning. Sadly it seems it is coming to an end and I can only hope that the community will continue to have a place to call their "home" in the future.
In my personal opinion if the agreement would really be respected (the parts about you guys only hosting the server and all the decisions being up to us) and the support for the server and forum strong enough for the community to continue evolving, I would agree to such a "merger" or migration.
