You dont have to be a chicken to lay an egg , dumbiii, evolution is mutation. so the egg was first , maybe if you cross a pidgen with a robin you get a chicken , but they will have to lay an egg first :shock: :shock:

Personally i think that the chicken came first, and that it gave birth without the use off eggs, and then by evolution they started to lay eggs.

Otherwise where did the first egg come from?

It would have to have been laid, which means there needed to be a chicken before it

A strange topic tho for a cheater thread, unless the chicken hacked into another animals dna, and cheated so they could lay eggs too! :shock:

Chicken first cause.....

chickens can evolve from whatever they were before they were chickens eggs cant as they are the fertilized embryo's of the male and female of the species of which is in the egg (sperm egg birds and the bees etc).

Egg came before the first ever chicken.
The thing that layed the egg was nearly a chicken, but didn't (fully) sport enough characteristics to fully classify it as a chicken. Evolution gave the thing that hatched full chickeny whatsits
