Look out for Msole32.exe -- it is particularly nasty -- it will keep re-installing spyware and adware even after you have used removal tools.

It sometimes hides in your windows or system32 folder

Most removal tools are not picking this one up.

best way of removal I can find is to create a restore point and remove manually.

then sweep your registry for folders, keys and values and just delete them.

then run your removal tools for a final clean up.

MOst peeps are going the software route with things like Spyware, virus, trojans, worms etc but if its hardware, Crazyidiot is most likely to be heading in the right direction. Ive done pc builds where the motherboard and ram dont like each other and they can do this sort of thing. One of the other causes hardware wise that ive come across is a faulty CPU (processor). I recently had to replace an AMD Athlon in a pc that would reboot for no reason even after reinstalling windows and then changing hard drives. I put the new CPU in and the pc has been 100% since.
