I allso have problems with my ati radeon 9800pro.
When i play cod sometimes the screen turn darker.
Of course i can fix some of that with monitor menu but it is not so good than original.
When that happaned during the clan wars or something its wery annoying.
it harder to see opponents in dark corners.

Hardy it sounds like an Driver Problem. Try older Catalyst Drivers. Maybe it fix your problem.
nVidia and ATI have often problems with their new drivers. I dont know for how long u have this problem. Have u changed the drivers last days ?

41° for a Ati is ok.

Which Mainboard do u have ? Does it support AGP 8x (or only 4x).

Look in BIOS, and find your AGP settings.

Theres alot of issues like that with the 9600 series :S, i used to have the same problem until i upgraded.

Your best bet would be to format and start over.

But first check things such as fastwrites, turn them off see what difference it makes.

Also changing your AGP Bus From 8X to 4X might help if possible.

As a last resort check the fan and heatsinc on the card to see if it is spinning properly. U could always try putting a bigger one on :)

You might find your answer here :) its an old thread i used when i had the same problem
