Hope this just isn't me but quite often these days a player turns up on the server with an alias no ones ever seen before (often in plain white like they don't care) and runs amok making suspiciously large amount of kills and high accuracy to the level I know maybe only 5 to 7 regulars are capable off.
Tonight, one such player (petit, PB ID 3c139915) was on and despite mostly no more than 10 players per team (and a lot less later on when many left), he was upto 1800xp by map 6, accuracy touching 50% and basically the way the gun moved while quite human was also quite suspect in terms of often the cross hair was moving around and past the players body then back accross again but as it sweeped over the body (or head) I got the distinct impression thats when a shot was fired. I'm no expert in bots and know of the term humanised bots which I guess are getting clever and can make the aim look a bit wavvering as is natural when your trying to track a target but to time the actual shot to perfection like I witnessed, seems odd...spray lots of shots yes, but 4 or 5 shots, 2 misses (have to keep below 50%
) but 2 crucial hits (prob 1 HS and 2 body) like that doesn't seem right.
Anyway, the point of this post isn't so much about bots as players turning up on the server with totally unknown alias and owning the place then never being seen again under the same alias which obviously has to raise suspicions. If I was capable of close to 50% accuracy legally I'd want everyone to know its me, not hide behind a different alias every time i play
The above is happening all too often these days as there seems to be many (or perhaps only a few and lots of alias's) turning up every other evening, then disappearing never to be seen again. Given ET is getting on a bit and with not many good (non bot) servers left I have to wonder where do these anonymous players practice when not on fP server or Hirnot. I guess if your good in other FPS games, you could be good on ET but surely to join an Et server once in a blue moon and play as well if not better than the likes of Haga, Binary and a few other regulars (who don't hide there alias or at least usually come clean in game if their play style gives them away
) and despite weapon and physics differences between FPS and still get 50% acc is surely an almost impossible task if you don't play regularly or have been away from ET for a little while.
^^^ Possibly a lot of uninteligable ramblings, didn't mean to go on and go but hope you get the gist of my suspicions off some here today, gone tomorrow players and why maybe stricter checks/moderation might be warrented on such players as while I've not fond of being owned by players better than me (who is?) at least if I know them and respect their skills as I do accept dying with dignity (or quietly get pissed off and give up lol)
